Tinitha “Pearll” Warren is a proud, lifelong resident of Minneapolis, having lived in both North and South Minneapolis for over 40 years with her Father Meyer Warren Sr. and Mother the late Dr. Elder Yvette D. House and 5 siblings. She is the proud mother of six children and grandmother to six. Pearll is also a homeowner, entrepreneur, published author, and a celebrated world renowned spoken word artist with a well-established reputation across the Twin Cities. Passionate about helping others succeed, Pearll thrives in community, always seeking ways to be resourceful and supportive to those around her.
Empowerment, Equity, Impact
Pearll's diverse background in community advocacy, housing, education, environmental justice, and the arts uniquely positions her as a dynamic and impactful leader for North Minneapolis. With over two decades of service in the public and nonprofit sectors, she has consistently worked to uplift individuals and families through affordable housing, financial literacy, and educational opportunity.
As the Homeownership Development Manager at Twin Cities Habitat for Humanity, Pearll has helped countless families realize the dream of homeownership, offering culturally responsive support and financial coaching. Her previous roles with East African Housing Services and as a HUD-Certified Housing Stabilization Counselor at the Urban League Twin Cities have further strengthened her ability to stabilize households and foster long-term economic mobility.
Pearll has also served as a two-term Environmental Justice Fellow with both the Environmental Justice Coordinating Council (EJCC) and the Public Policy Project. Through these fellowships, she played a vital role in advancing environmental equity, sustainability, and clean energy access in frontline communities. Her work with the City of Minneapolis’ Green Cost Share Program has further supported environmental initiatives across the city—helping residents and small businesses adopt greener, more sustainable practices while reducing pollution in North Minneapolis.
In education, Pearll has worked as a Lead Literacy Intervention Specialist with Minneapolis Public Schools, where she championed academic equity and literacy advancement. Her extensive experience in youth outreach, intervention services, and public safety reflects a deep commitment to nurturing safe, educated, and resilient communities.
Beyond her professional roles, Pearll is a celebrated business owner, author, and world-renowned spoken word artist. Through her platform, Words of Wise-Dome, she weaves together artistic expression and community empowerment—using poetry as a catalyst for healing, awareness, and transformation.
Her outstanding work has earned her numerous accolades, including the City of Minneapolis Merit Award and the Top Educators Award from the Black Women’s Wealth Alliance. She has also received letters of recommendation from the late Senator Paul Wellstone and Congressman Jim Ramstad for her work with the National Foundation for Teaching Entrepreneurship, further underscoring her dedication to youth empowerment and economic development for starting her own small business Black Berry Graphics, Inc. which is recognized in the Minnesota Historical Society.
Pearll’s leadership is grounded in integrity, driven by purpose, and inspired by a vision of equity and collective progress. With a bold agenda for stable housing, economic vibrancy, environmental justice, and community unity, she is ready to bring her holistic, community-first approach to the City Council. Pearll is committed to ensuring North Minneapolis remains a place where families can thrive, neighborhoods are safe, and opportunities are accessible to all.
