Together, We Can Build a Vibrant, Safe, and Inclusive Ward 5
I am committed to working with the community, law enforcement, and local businesses to create a thriving, safe, and inclusive environment for all. Your voice matters, your actions count, and together, we can make a meaningful difference in Ward 5.

1

Affordable and Equitable Housing

Affordable housing is abundant in Ward 5, but safe, suitable, and sustainable housing is lacking. We need to diversify our communities with mixed-income housing to better balance the area’s tax liabilities and increase our Area Median Income (AMI). My plan is to support land developments that promote inclusive and sustainable housing, ensuring that every resident has access to a safe, affordable home.

2

Public Safety

I am committed to improving public safety in Ward 5 through community outreach, violence intervention, and strong partnerships with law enforcement. With a 10% reduction in crime over the past three years, we will continue building trust, supporting community policing, and addressing the root causes of crime, such as poverty and lack of opportunity. By investing in mental health resources and youth programs, we can create safer streets and brighter futures for families. Together, we can reduce crime and make Ward 5 an even safer place to live.

3

Employment and Livability

Economic opportunity is critical to our community’s success. We will enhance job training programs, support local businesses, and provide resources for entrepreneurship. By fostering partnerships between educational institutions, training opportunities, Unions, employers, we can better align job skills with market needs. We will also promote financial literacy and wealth-building programs to ensure all residents have the tools to achieve economic stability.

5

Enhancing Constituents’ Services and Community Engagement

We must ensure that our community has access to the information, services, and city plans needed to make well-informed decisions. Whether it's speed bumps, cleaner streets, or proper snow removal, I will amplify the voices of Ward 5 residents to ensure their needs are heard in the decision-making process. Investing in curb appeal and improving our neighborhood environment will not only enhance the community but also attract businesses and consumers, driving economic growth in the area.

4

Supporting Local Businesses and Economic Sustainability

We must work with the business district to attract equitable businesses that meet the needs of the residents. With a food desert and pharmacy deficit in the area, it’s essential to encourage healthy businesses that support the wellness of the community. Through business incubators and increased support for workforce development, we can help local businesses thrive and keep money circulating within the community. This will help ensure economic sustainability and meet the needs of Ward 5 residents.
